The 62-nd session of the UN General Assembly adopted resolution of status of internally displaced persons and refugees from Abkhazia, Georgia on May 15, 2008.
Hundred and five of the UN Member states refrained from voting on the resolution. UN General Assembly adopted the document by 14 votes against 11 votes.
The Resolution, initiated for consideration of UN General Assembly by Georgia, was supported by the UN Member states – Albania, Azerbaijan, Czeсh Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Sweden, USA and Ukraine.
The following states voted against the Resolution Armenia, Byelorussia, Venezuela, India, Iran, KNDR, Myanmar, Russia, Serbia, Syria, Sudan.
